I keep a notebook beside my bed - which I have entitled 'Quotations that hit the spot - whatever that spot is'. and that's just what it is! I read, something touches me, and a copy it down. It is full of memories and inspiration. This one, from my days as an avid scrapbooker, has resonated because of my online friends Jules White and Stephano Capacchione and the importance they place on stories in business.
"When a day passes it is no longer there. What remains of it? Nothing more than a story. If stories weren't told, or books weren't written, man would live like beasts - only for the day... Today we live, but tomorrow today will be a story. The whole world, all human life is one long story." (Naftali the storyteller and his horse, by IB Singer)
I know my story, and I have written it down. I can tell my customers just why I am there standing in front of them, and how what they buy will affect that story.
Do you have a story? How does it affect your business?
