What is faith?

The Old Testament describes faith, when telling the story of Abram (later Abraham) as 'deciding to live, not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what God said he would do' (The Message).

Abram was not a very nice character - a chancer, a bully, out for what he could get, he even pimped his own wife - not once but twice - but he hadn't got the one thing he wanted, a son and heir. At his age all his dreams were dying but he chose to have faith - and his dreams became reality.

You do not need to have a religious belief, for this still be relevant. - focussing not on what you cann't do, but on what you will do.Seeing not the impossible but believing you can fulfill your own dreams.

Charles S Wing, funnily enough a clergyman, published the original story about the Littlest Engine, who took on the task refused by larger, stronger engines, chuffing the mantra 'I think I can, I think I can, I think I can' until finally came the realisation 'I KNOW I can'

I have recently  left behind the business prop that helped me to develop and grow in confidence, but then began to stiffle.

Now I am stepping out in faith, not quite on my own but with a guide ready to catch if I fall (Thankyou Georgina Hodgkinson!), so here I go......

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...............
